Een inductor, ook bekend als een spoel, smoorspoel of reactor, is een passieve tweepolige elektrische component die energie opslaat in een magnetisch veld wanneer er elektrische stroom door stroomt. Wanneer de stroom verandert, wekt het magnetische veld een spanning op in de geleider. De geïnduceerde spanning heeft een polariteit die zich verzet tegen de verandering in stroom waardoor deze is ontstaan. De eenheid van inductie is de Henry (H). Montageopties omvatten oppervlak, doorgaand gat en chassis.
