Spanningsregelaars - Lineair

Lineaire spanningsregelaars worden gebruikt om een stabiele uitgangsspanning te leveren die nominaal invariant is met betrekking tot veranderingen in laadstroom, ingangsspanning of omgevingsfactoren. Hun werkingsprincipe vereist dat de ingangsspanning met een minimale hoeveelheid boven de gewenste uitgangsspanning wordt gehouden en werkt op basis van het omzetten van welke overtollige spanning dan ook aanwezig is bij de ingang naar warmte. Hoewel ze hierdoor minder efficiënt zijn dan spanningsregelaars in de schakelmodus voor de meeste toepassingen, zijn ze vaak beter geschikt voor toepassingen met een hoge gevoeligheid voor ruis.
