About

Orbital Research was established in 2003 by Mike Stevens. Mike has since retired in 2017 and Ian McEachren has taken the reigns. Orbital employees approximately 25 employees with an even split between engineering and production.

We design, prototype and manufacture low rate production Frequency Converter products. High rate production is outsourced to our CRM in Japan. Our products range from 1 GHz to 40 GHz in frequency. Manufactured primarily for the SATCOM market – both ground and space, we do have the capability to provide frequency converter products for the consumer mobile market – 4G and 5G.

Our primary customers are military satellite terminal integrators who are convinced to exacting standards. We meet and exceed those standards while providing a unique product to help differentiate our customers offering.
