MSP430FR5969 Launchpad Slide 9

The MSP430FR5969 device block diagram with one of the lowest active power 16-bit MCU offers up to 64 kB of embedded FRAM and 2 kB of static RAM. The device operates with an average active power of about 100 µA/MHz at a 75% cache hit ratio. The lowest clock powered standby mode LPM3.5 is operational under 500 nA. The maximum system frequency is 16 MHz with FRAM accesses limited to 8 MHz. The supply voltage rail extends from 1.8 V to 3.6 V and the system can be run at any frequency across this voltage range. FRAM writes can also be performed at 1.8 V. The device supports two analog modules, a 12 bit differential ADC with 16 single ended and 8 differential inputs as well as a comparator with 16 external channels. The device also supports five timers, three communication ports, Direct memory access for CPU offloading, HW multiplier and a CRC module. The FR59 family of products provide a built-in AES accelerator for encryption and decryption, this is not available on the FR58 family of products. The entire family is available as a catalog of thirty-four products in packages ranging from 38 TSSOP to 40 and 48 QFN options. The FR59 ecosystem is supported by Driver Library that provides integrated driver support for all modules. Evaluating the device is easy using the flexible target socket board or the low cost FR59 LaunchPad which will be covered in more detail in Part 3 of the training series.
