Hun werking in dezelfde staat als een traditionele elektromechanische schakelaar, vergemakkelijkt hun elektronische status, langere levensduur en minder schakelruis in vergelijking met elektromechanische schakeling, in ruil voor extra beperkingen op de amplitude en voorspanning van de signalen die worden geschakeld.
