CNC Series: Low Resistance Soft Termination MLCC

TDK's CNC series utilize a unique termination construction, improving electrical performance

Image of TDK's CNC Series: Low Resistance Soft Termination MLCC TDK's low resistance, soft termination capacitors (CNC series) utilize a unique termination construction by applying the soft resin material to the bottom side of the MLCC only. This design greatly improves electrical performance by providing lower parasitic resistance and inductance. The same soft resin material of the conventional series is used on the contact side, which keeps the identical mechanical performance, such as minimizing cracking caused by board flex, vibration, and more.

Typical applications are where significant board flex may occur, such as battery power tools, mobile equipment, network devices, and power delivery applications. Since the soft termination feature is a termination technology, TDK can theoretically extend this design technique to its existing capacitance range, allowing for a wide capacitance offering.
